Ms. Verbrugge's class recently dove into a creative project: Dual Identity Portraits! 🖼️✨ Students drew one half of their face to showcase their physical traits—like hair, eyes, and freckles—and the other half to represent what makes them unique on the inside, including their hobbies, interests, and beliefs. 🙌🎭

🗓️ SAVE THE DATE!
At Hannibal High School, we know that students experience many times of transition in their lives. Our students transition from the home setting to school, they transition between school buildings and districts, and they transition from high school to adulthood. This year, the transition goal for Hannibal High School is to help students and families connect with outside agencies at an early age to foster relationships and develop a strong foundation for support inside and outside of school. We are partnering with many agencies in Hannibal and the surrounding area to provide a Community Outreach Expo for students and families to connect, ask questions, and collaborate with representatives at agencies that provide valuable support to individuals with and without disabilities on October 17, 2024. The Expo will be open to HPS students and families from 1:00-6:00, and it will be open to the public from 3:30-6:00.
We want to thank all of the sponsors and partners in making this a successful event, and we look forward to seeing everyone in October!

Home run for Kennedi Gibbons!🥎

❤️🎉Help Us Praise Our Pirate Staff! ❤️🏴☠️
Of course, we all know someone at Hannibal Public Schools who consistently goes above and beyond. Now’s your chance to show your appreciation by submitting a Pirate Praise! Anyone can submit an "Praise" for any HPS employee.
The employee will receive a token of appreciation that lets everyone know he or she was the recipient of a "Praise!" If a teacher or staff member has done something outstanding since the start of school—or even over the summer—let us know!

🌕🍪 Mrs. Shrader and Mrs. Watkins’ Classes Learn About Moon Phases Using Oreos! 🌙
Students in Mrs. Shrader and Mrs. Watkins' classes had a fun and delicious science lesson! They used Oreo cookies 🍪 to learn about the phases of the moon 🌕. By carefully scraping off the cream to represent different phases 🌑🌓🌔, students explored how the moon changes shape throughout the month. What a creative way to make science both educational and tasty! 👏 ❤🏴☠️

🌍 Pirates around the world! 🏴☠️
US Army Lt. John Maune, HHS Class of 2019, recently arrived in Poland and was greeted with, "Lieutenant Maune? I know your dad!" The twist? His new boss is another Hannibal Pirate—CPT Ian McKenzie, HHS Class of 2010.
We’re incredibly proud of both John and Ian, and we thank them for their service to our country. Go Pirates, Go Army!
